November 2013 User Group Meeting

The NI Tech Expo is on tour and we are excited to welcome it to our user group meeting! Come and see hardware demos in Automated Test, RF/Wireless, Embedded Control and Monitoring and Big Data. Talk to NI Engineers and other LabVIEW users and share ideas and information about using LabVIEW!
For this special event, there will be extended hours, open house style from 11:00am to 1:30pm. Main meeting with lunch and LabVIEW Tips'n'Tricks from 12:00 - 12:30pm. (Please note the hours change from the NI email)

September 2013 User Group Meeting
It’s time to get interactive! This month we will have roundtable discussions on several different topics:
· CLAD/CLD Prep (Discuss the sample tests)
· New in LabVIEW 2013 (explore the new features)
· Object Oriented LabVIEW (From simple classes to Actor Framework)
· Code Review (bring and review code, Q&A)
· Web Services (either desktop or RT)
· Pre-Packaged Code (using helpful source downloads via VI Package Manager and others)
Please bring your laptop with LabVIEW if you can (wi-fi available) and something to share if you can.

July 2013 User Group Meeting
Please plan to attend with us and learn from a Certified LabVIEW Architect, Carl Wecker, Maxtec. We will be going through various basic user interface design concepts as well as looking into some inspirational user interface design examples. We will review some of the Pros and Cons, benefits and limits, what works and what doesn’t work with respect to UI design in LabVIEW.

May 2013 User Group Meeting
Experimental Physics using LabVIEW is the topic brought to us by physics students at Utah Valley University, taught by Dr. Bonnie Andersen. They will be showing several projects including: Measuring Brewster’s Angle of Superconductors, Universal Negation Device to Evaluate And Destroy (UNDEAD) Zombies, Improving Solar Cell Efficiency, and Measuring Behavior of a Chaotic Pendulum Using a Wii Remote. March 2013 User Group Meeting
This month we welcome a BYU Senior Capstone Team sponsored by TD Williamson. They are creating a production test fixture to validate sensor packages used in pigging of oil and gas pipelines. The application requires motion control and data acquisition running under LabVIEW Real-Time and FPGA on a CompactRIO platform. We will also have a LabVIEW Tips n Tricks segment, so bring them if you’ve got them!
